Assistant to Neeru Khosla, Office Manager Kathleen Bakshi enjoys the entrepreneurial spirit of CK-12. After fifteen years in the biotech and high tech worlds, it is refreshing to be involved in an organization dedicated to making textbooks available to all. When not supporting CK-12’s executive director, and managing office operations, Kathleen spends her time chasing her two year old daughter, and loving every minute of it!

Lindsay Cazel Palo Alto, CA Program Management Lindsay Cazel graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Business. After graduation, she gained several years of experience in Los Angeles' dynamic marketing and advertising industry through her work at Fox Cable Networks, Big Fish Marketing, and Material Technologies. Lindsay joined CK-12 with a dedication to its mission of reshaping the K-12 education industry. At CK-12 Lindsay pursues her passion for increasing students' access to high quality educational materials in her role as Program Manager. In the summer of 2008 she developed and managed a team of high school interns to review and contribute to CK-12's seeded content. She helps keep the organization on track to achieve both its short and long term goals, and recently her focus has been conducting workshops with high school teachers.

Gary Clarke Palo Alto, CA
Content Manager Gary is very excited about joining CK-12. After spending many years in educational publishing and IT Web publishing, he wanted to work for a top-notch team that brought those two worlds together. Delivering high quality online educational content over the Web and to build a thriving online educational community, all in support of an open education mission...now what could be better than that! For the past nine-plus years, Gary has gained experience in online Web publishing and online community building with Catapulse, Rational Software, a little company called IBM (developerWorks) and an even smaller one, Microsoft (MSDN). Prior to that, he spent six years with Pearson and Key Curriculum Press. He attended the London School of Economics, University of London, University of Southern California, and taught logic and philosophy for one year at Manchester University. He has a wife, Jozefa, and two very small children, Oliver (4 years) and Abigail (14 months.) He has no free time whatsoever!

Michele Daughtrey Palo Alto, CA Development - User Interface
Michele comes to CK-12 Foundation with five years experience as a designer for MTV Networks in Los Angeles and New York. She is an alumna of the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and Pratt Institute. Michele recently taught in the graphic design department at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in San Francisco.
She is pleased to be applying her efforts towards the progressive education initiative at CK-12. An Atlanta native, Michele enjoys Northern California's farmers' markets, swimming and her newest hobby, karate.

Annamaria Farbizio Palo Alto, CA Content - Math Leader & Editor Annamaria Farbizio has over 25 years experience in educational publishing with a specialization in middle school and secondary mathematics. After teaching high school for three years, she self-published her own series of math textbooks before joining Charles E. Merrill Publishing as an assistant editor. She worked on best-selling textbooks in both the secondary and college divisions. In the late 80s she joined Addison-Wesley Publishing as a product manager for Secondary Mathematics and Computer Science. She and her husband have been printing and publishing entrepreneurs since 1987. Annamaria joined the staff of CK-12 in the fall of 2008 and is very excited about participating in the development of a world-class Open Source curriculum.

Joshua Gay Boston, MA Content Development Joshua Gay is the content technical manager for CK-12. With backgrounds in both software engineering and educational publishing, Joshua acts as a bridge between the content development team and the software development teams--helping to ensure that the technological development is in step with the needs of authors, editors, educators, and students. As a former campaigns manager for the Free Software Foundation, and as editor of Free Software, Free Society: Selected Essays of Richard M. Stallman, Joshua hopes his knowledge of the free software movement, and the development of major projects such as the GNU/Linux operating system will provide many invaluable lessons as we navigate the uncharted waters of the production and sharing of free educational works.

Gil Hoskins has developed and managed instructional and publishing systems for schools, government agencies, publishers, and non-profit organizations through several generational shifts in technology. He has edited single titles and multiple series for middle and high school mathematics, including alternative integrated material. He has advised major educational publishers in content development for math, science, and social studies, produced ancillary print components, and tested systems for post-publication correlation automation. Since its founding, Gil has outlined many of CK-12’s seed titles for its sequence of open-source math and science courses. As a California native with Gold Rush roots, he is very pleased to be here in Palo Alto with another team of pioneers, coordinating curriculum alignment for CK-12, whether by state, national, common, or shared content standards, as FlexBooks begin to reach out and meet the needs of students, educators, schools and homes throughout the country and around the world.

Holland Lincoln Palo Alto, CA Partner Management Holland Lincoln is CK-12's Partner Relations Representative. She graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a BA in Environmental Science. After teaching outdoor education in Switzerland for one year and Middle School science and math in San Diego for three years, she completed her masters at Harvard in education (2008). Much of her research at Harvard focused on open source software and publishing, open educational resources, and the potential for information and communication technologies to bring about fundamental change in our schools, specifically the way in which information is generated, harnessed, and disseminated. Holland has transitioned from the classroom to working with the CK-12 Foundation with the goal of reaching out to teachers and introducing them to CK-12's collaborative online authoring environment and the potential it has to improve classroom instruction. She is thrilled to be part of the CK-12 Foundation team and looking forward to the positive impact CK-12 will have on educational communities throughout the world.

Ezra Nugroho Palo Alto, CA Development Ezra believes in Open Source Software, and tends to gravitate to work for open projects. He graduated from Penn State University studying Theoretical Computer Science, where he failed to maintain a 4.0 GPA. He grew up in Semarang, Central Java - Indonesia. He now demands his daily cup of Java, speaks Javanese, barely writes Java code, but still kinda stinks when it comes to Javascript. He plays a few musical instruments, plays badminton, cooks, and writes cheesy things on his blog.

Juli Weiss Palo Alto, CA Content - Science Leader & Editor Juli Weiss is CK12's Science Leader and Editor. Trained in biochemistry and biophysics, she formerly served as director of clinical research in a university setting. She has spent the last two decades in the non-profit sector in various leadership positions and non-profit boards. She previously served as executive director of the Pacific Vascular Research Foundation; principal partner of Scientific Solutions; co-founder, president, and executive director of California Summer Music; and program officer of the Koret Foundation. She currently serves on the Nueva School Board of Trustees, the Del Sol Performing Arts Organization Board of Directors; Phillips Academy Andover Parent Fund; and the Cate School Fund. She is delighted to be a part of CK12's vision and mission, transforming education by creating a new paradigm for accessing knowledge as well as trailblazing in Open Source. She is hopeful CK12's work will inform public policy and advocacy.
